Decorative ceramic bowl with tomatoes, handmade | Decodeman

A large decorative bowl in ceramic, made entirely by hand and generously filled with realistic tomato shapes in glazed ceramic. More a work of art than an ordinary decorative piece, and an eye-catcher on a table or a sideboard.

What it is

The bowl is meant as decoration: together with the bowl, the tomatoes form the picture of a generously filled fruit bowl. You put it down to look at.

Handwork

Because the bowl is made entirely by hand, the shape of the tomatoes, their arrangement and the tone of the glaze are never exactly the same. Small differences in shine and colour belong to handwork and give the piece its character.

Where it goes

As a centrepiece on a dining table or a sideboard, but also surprisingly lovely in a country or Mediterranean kitchen, on a kitchen island or an open shelf. In a sleek, white interior it works precisely through contrast: the colour of the tomatoes and the crafted shape bring life straight into a calm space.

If it stands in the middle of a table you use every day, take the size into account. On a sideboard it often looks even better.

Styling

Combine it with linen table linen, olive wood, terracotta or a few simple candlesticks for a summery, Mediterranean mood. A green plant or a bunch of herbs next to it strengthens the kitchen feel.

Care

Dust with a soft, dry cloth, and between the tomatoes with a soft brush. If needed wipe lightly damp and dry straight away. Do not use scouring powder on the glaze. Lift the bowl with two hands under the base and not by the rim.
