Lylou armchair with low back and wide seat

An armchair that stays low to the ground. The back is no higher than 67 cm, the seat sits at 43 cm, and the depth runs to 91 cm. Those proportions make this piece a chair to sink into and not to sit upright in.

Dimensions

• Height 67 cm
• Width 87 cm
• Depth 91 cm
• Seat height 43 cm

Where it goes

The low back means this armchair does not block the view. That makes it usable in the middle of a space, in front of a window, or in an open living area where a high back would divide the room. In a seating area opposite a sofa it works as a counterweight without dominating.

Seating comfort

With a seat height of 43 cm you sit a little lower than on a dining chair. That is comfortable to sit in for a long time and slightly less easy to get up out of; anyone who struggles with that should choose a model with a higher seat. The depth of 91 cm calls for a cushion behind your back if you want to sit upright.

Styling

A low armchair needs a low side table next to it, somewhere between 40 and 50 cm high, so you can put a glass down without reaching up. A tall side table next to a low chair looks wrong and works wrong.

Good to know

At 87 by 91 cm this armchair takes up almost a square metre of floor. Measure the spot before you decide, and allow for the room you need to get in and out comfortably: count on at least 60 cm of free space in front of the chair.

Care

Vacuum the upholstery regularly with a soft brush. Blot stains straight away by dabbing, not rubbing. Feel free to ask Camille about the upholstery and the best care.
