Canvas paintings, set of 2, Mediterranean streets

Canvas paintings, in a set of two: 'Mediterranean streets'. They bring the warmth and charm of a Mediterranean summer into your home, with sunlit little streets, graceful steps, terracotta walls and lush greenery in soft pastel tones.

Dimensions

• 60 x 80 x 5 cm per painting
• Set of two, not available separately
• Soft pastel tones with terracotta and green

Why a set of two

Two paintings side by side make a series, and a series looks like a deliberate choice. Above a sofa, a sideboard or a bed they fill a wide wall without it getting busy. Because the tones are soft, they stay calm on the wall and do not demand all the attention.

Where they hang

In the living room, the bedroom or a light hallway. Hang them at the same height with a small gap, so they read as one whole. A rule of thumb: the centre of the paintings at about eye level, and above a piece of furniture a hand's width between the bottom of the canvas and the furniture. They also work well above the headboard of a bed, because the soft colours radiate calm and let you dream of sunny places again and again.

Styling

The terracotta and the green look lovely with natural materials such as rattan, linen, wood and ceramics. Add a small olive tree or a few cushions in sand tones and you bring the summery mood fully into your home. In a white or light grey interior they provide warmth.

Care

Keep dust-free with a dry, soft cloth or a feather duster. Do not use a damp cloth or cleaning product on the canvas. Preferably do not hang them in bright, direct sunlight, because pastel colours fade sooner.
