Driftwood wall decoration, 149 x 102 cm

A large wall decoration in driftwood, of 149 x 102 x 12 cm. Driftwood is wood weathered by water, sun and wind, and so the wood has its own shape, tone and texture. Feel free to ask Camille about the details of this piece.

Dimensions

• 149 x 102 x 12 cm
• A depth of 12 cm, so the work stands clearly off the wall

Collection only

Because of its size this wall decoration cannot be sent. It can only be collected at our shop. If you are unsure about the size or want to see it first, feel free to drop by.

What the depth does

Twelve centimetres of depth is a lot for wall decoration, and that makes the difference with a flat painting. Light coming in sideways casts shadows between the wood, so the image changes with the time of day. It is more a relief than a picture.

Where it hangs

On a large, calm wall that can handle the size: above a long sofa, above a dining table, in a stairwell or as the only piece on an empty wall. Preferably hang nothing else next to it, because a work a metre and a half wide is the subject itself. The natural wood suits a coastal interior, linen and wool, but also concrete and clean lines.

Hanging

Wood over this surface has weight. Hang it on at least two sturdy points, with wall plugs and screws that suit the material of your wall. In plasterboard use cavity fixings.

Care

Dust with a soft, dry brush or a feather duster. Do not wet it and do not oil it: the weathered colour and texture are exactly what makes the charm of driftwood.

Choosing the size

There is also a smaller driftwood wall decoration of 101 x 59 cm. If you are unsure, mark out the size on the wall first with masking tape. A metre and a half wide looks smaller on paper than on the wall.
