Starfish decoration for wall or shelf, 25 x 25 x 3.5 cm

This starfish is decoration you can hang on the wall or simply lay on a shelf, a cupboard or a desk. It measures 25 x 25 x 3.5 cm and was designed to dress a child's room in a playful, creative way. It also suits other places in the home, anywhere you want a nod to the sea.

Lying or hanging

On the wall it becomes an object you look at; on a shelf it becomes an object that is simply there. That difference is bigger than it sounds. On the wall it asks for a calm background and a little space around it. Lying down, it can sit among other things, next to a book or a candle, and then it works precisely because it is not presented. Laying it down is also handy in places where you do not want to or cannot drill.

Where it fits

In a child's room, where the shape is recognisable at once and the sea is a nice theme to play with. In a bathroom on the edge of a cabinet. In a living room or a holiday home among other maritime decoration, as long as you do not display everything at once. One starfish among books is a reference; five starfish on a shelf is a shop window.

Combining

If you are building a coastal feel, it pays to stick to two or three references to the sea and keep the rest of the space calm. Think of driftwood, linen and soft sand shades in the interior. The square size of 25 by 25 cm also makes it easy to combine with rectangular frames: in a group on the wall, a square object is a resting point between portrait and landscape formats, because it picks no direction.

Hanging and care

Dusting with a soft, dry brush or cloth is enough. If you want to hang it, choose a fixing that suits your wall; feel free to ask Camille how best to hang it.
