Hall bench in mango wood and woven reed | Decodeman

A hall bench, made of mango wood and woven reed. It is 1 metre long, 50 cm wide and 65 cm high: the ideal size for any entrance. The two materials together give the piece something light: it stands firmly, but does not weigh the space down.

Material and finish

Mango wood has an open, lively grain, so the wood shows a different pattern on every piece. The woven reed brings texture and a natural, light touch. Wood and reed together suit a country interior just as well as a sober, modern home.

Where it stands

In the entrance hall this is the classic spot: sit for a moment to put on your shoes or put down your bag. At the foot of a bed it works just as well, especially in a bedroom where you want little other furniture. A third option that is often forgotten: under a window in the living space, with a throw or a few cushions on it.

Care

Dust with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Mango wood does well with a little furniture oil or wax now and then, which keeps the grain a nice colour. Preferably do not put reed in full sun, because natural fibres fade and become more brittle in strong light. Water and reed do not go well together, so do not mop against it and do not leave wet shoes on the weave.

Delivery

We deliver large furniture free of charge in West Flanders. Beyond that we charge fuel costs, depending on where you live. Feel free to ask how this bench can best reach you. You can also collect it free of charge in the shop.

What you need to know

Reed is a natural weave and gives a little. Do not stand on it to hang a lamp: a weave is made for weight that is spread out, not for pressure on one point.

Wood and reed are natural materials and can change shade over the years. That belongs to the material and gives the bench even more character over time.

You can also see it in our shop in Koksijde, where you are welcome to sit on it for a moment.
