Marble side table, cube shape

This side table is a cube in marble. Nothing more, and that is exactly why it works: there is no shape getting in the way of the stone, so you look at the pattern of the stone itself.

Material

Marble is a natural stone, which means the veining runs differently in every piece. Two cubes side by side are therefore never quite the same. The cool material and the calm shape make it a piece of furniture that is restrained and striking at the same time.

Dimensions

If you want to know whether the cube fits your spot, feel free to ask Camille for the exact measurements.

Where it goes

As a bedside table next to a bed, where the flat top has room for a lamp and a book. As a side table next to a sofa. Or simply as a plinth, with one object on it, in a corner that needs a little attention.

Styling

The big plus of a marble cube is that it fits both a classic and a modern interior. It claims no style: next to a classic armchair it reads as classic, next to a sleek sofa as modern. Combine it with warm wood or with wool to soften the coolness of the stone.

Care

Marble is porous and sensitive to acid. Wipe up spilled wine, lemon, coffee or vinegar immediately, because they can damage the surface and leave dull patches. Clean with a damp cloth and, if needed, a mild, pH-neutral soap, never with scouring powder or descaler. A coaster under glasses and cups keeps the surface beautiful.

Why the veining counts

The pattern you see in marble is a cross-section of the stone. In every piece the pattern runs the way it runs; another block gives another picture. If you want to see the veining in real life before you decide, feel free to drop by. With natural stone the piece itself says more than a photo.

Why a cube

A cube has no front or back. You can turn it until the best side faces the room, and it stands just as well against a wall as freestanding in the space.
