What a high waist does

The waist sits above the hip instead of on it, and that changes the proportions of the silhouette: the leg starts higher visually and the trouser leg falls the full length. With a wide leg that is the difference between elegant and baggy. It also means you wear something tucked in or something short with them, because a long top layer hides exactly what the trousers do.

As a set or separately

When trying on, also pay attention to the length, because a wide leg that is too long drags and one that is too short looks unintended. Wide legs often call for a shoe with some height, so it is best to try the trousers with the shoes you most often wear with them.

Care

Always follow the care label. After washing, it is best to hang wide-leg trousers up, so the legs keep their fall. Iron if needed with care, with a cloth between the iron and the fabric.
