Wooden console with 150 cm top

This console in wood has a top one and a half metres long on a compact base. The proportion is what carries this piece: a long top that seems to float above a base that takes up much less room than you would expect.

Material

The console is made in wood. Differences in colour and pattern belong to the material and differ between pieces. If you want to know more about the type of wood or the finish, feel free to ask Camille.

Dimensions

• Top: L 150 cm x W 10 cm x H 40 cm
• Base: L 45 cm x W 40 cm x H 75 cm

Where it stands

In an entrance hall along the wall, with a mirror above it and a bowl for keys on top. Behind a sofa that stands freely in the space, where the console marks off the seating area without being a wall. Or in a dining room as a serving piece, for dishes and a few candles.

Combining

A console of this length asks for something above it: a mirror, a painting or two wall lights. Keep the top itself calm, with two or three objects of different heights instead of a whole row. Warm wood goes well with linen, ceramics and greenery.

Care

Dust with a dry or slightly damp cloth. A wood care product that suits the finish keeps the wood beautiful. Do not put hot or wet objects directly on the top and use coasters.

What you need to know about the construction

The top is 150 cm long and rests on a base of 45 cm. That gives the console its floating character, but it also means the weight is best placed in the middle. Do not put heavy objects right at the ends and do not sit on it.

Wood reacts to the humidity in the home. So do not put the console right against a radiator or in strong, direct sunlight.
