Rose console in natural wood with white marble top

This console combines warm natural wood with a white marble top. That contrast is the whole idea: the wood brings softness, the fresh marble crispness, and together they make a timeless piece that lands in almost any interior without putting its stamp on it.

Material and finish

Natural wood with a top in white marble. The design is organic: the wood follows soft lines instead of a strict straight form, which gives the console calm and character. Because marble is natural stone, the veining runs differently in every piece; that is not a defect but the nature of the material.

Where it goes

Thanks to the compact size this is a console for places where a longer piece does not fit: in the hallway, between two doors, in the living room or in a bedroom. If you are looking for more width, you can also look at the slightly more generous Vienne console, in the same combination of wood and white marble.

Styling

A mirror above and a lamp on top is the calmest combination, and the strongest too. If you want more, keep it to three decorative accessories of different heights rather than a row. The marble needs room to be seen; a full top makes the piece invisible.

Care

Marble is porous and reacts to acid. Wipe up wine, coffee, lemon or vinegar immediately, because they can leave dull patches. Clean with a damp cloth and at most a mild, pH-neutral soap. Never use scouring powder or descaler. Dust the wood dry.

Good to know

A marble top is heavier than it looks. Move the console with two people and lift it instead of sliding it, because sliding puts strain on the joint between top and base. On a wooden floor it is best to put felt pads underneath.
