Oval marble dining table on a mango wood base | Decodeman

This oval dining table combines a thick marble top with a robust mango wood base. With a length of 210 cm and a width of 100 cm it is a dining table for long dinners with family and friends, and a real eye-catcher in the dining area.

Material and finish

The top is marble and thickly made, which gives the table a sturdy, durable look. Marble is natural stone, so the pattern of the veins differs between tops. The wooden base in mango wood provides a warm, natural counterpart to the cool stone.

Why an oval table

An oval shape makes a table cosy and inviting. Where a rectangular table has corners, an oval runs round, so everyone can join the same conversation more easily. That makes this table ideal for anyone who likes to linger at the table. When measuring, allow enough free space around it, so chairs can be pulled out easily. If you are unsure how many chairs fit comfortably around it, feel free to ask Camille.

Styling

A table of this size carries the room, so the chairs can stay calm. A set of identical chairs in a neutral tone often works better than a mix. If you do want some play, choose chairs in wood or rattan that echo the warmth of the base. A pendant lamp or a row of lamps above the top completes the whole.

Care

Look after marble with care as a rule. Acidic drinks and foods such as wine, lemon, vinegar and coffee can damage the surface if left standing, so wipe up spills straight away. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and a mild product, and avoid scouring powder. Dust the wooden base with a dry cloth. Feel free to ask Camille for the right care product for the marble.
