Dining chair in teak with rattan seat and back, set of four

A dining chair with a frame in sturdy teak and a seat and backrest in woven rattan. That combination is classic and lasts: the wood carries, the weave gives a little.

Material and finish

High-quality teak with a rattan seat and backrest. Teak is dense and naturally rich in oil, which makes it resistant to moisture and daily use. The rattan gives the chair a light, natural look that suits both a modern and a classic interior.

Dimensions

• Length 59.5 cm
• Height 80 cm
• Seat height 45 cm
• Seat depth 45 cm

Seating comfort

Rattan gives slightly, which makes a chair without a cushion more pleasant than a flat wooden seat. The seat height of 45 cm suits a table of 74 to 78 cm. The seat depth of 45 cm is average: comfortable for a meal, not meant for spending hours in.

Where they stand

At a dining table, which is what they are made for. But single chairs also work as a desk chair or as an extra seat in a bedroom or hall.

What you need to know

This chair is sold in a set of four, not individually. That is something to know in advance if you are only looking for one or two.

Care

Dust with a dry cloth or vacuum the weave with a soft brush, because dust collects between the weave. For the teak, a dry cloth is enough; feel free to ask which care product suits the finish. Do not put the chairs in full sun: rattan fades and becomes more brittle, and that cannot be reversed.

How rattan ages

Woven rattan becomes a little more supple over the years and the colour becomes warmer. Where you sit most, a slight sag appears over time; that is normal and does not mean the weave is giving way. What you should avoid is point loading: do not stand on it and do not put heavy objects on a small area.
