Why low and wide

Thirty centimetres high is lower than a bench seat. That makes the pouffe work mainly as a footstool: you stretch your legs out on it without your knees having to go up. With a surface of sixty by sixty, there is room for two pairs of feet, or for a large tray with coffee and a book. As a seat it is good for a child or for anyone who likes to sit low, for example by the open fire.

The pattern

Geometric shapes in warm shades draw the eye, and that is why this pouffe works best as the only pattern nearby. A plain sofa or a calm rug lets it come into its own; next to a busily printed fabric it quickly becomes too much.

Combining

Put it in front of a sofa in cognac, camel or dark green, or next to a sofa in a neutral fabric that could do with some colour. In an interior with a lot of wood and natural materials, the autumn tones fall into place at once. A throw or a cushion in one of the colours of the pattern rounds off the whole.

Care

Vacuum the pouffe regularly with a soft nozzle. Wool naturally repels a lot of dirt, so vacuuming is usually enough. Dab stains with a slightly damp cloth, without rubbing, and leave to dry in the air. Avoid strong sunlight, which makes warm colours fade unevenly over time.
